Police say the death of a young man that was brutally killed in a shooting on Saturday night, could be a possible case of mistaken identity. Andre Stevens from Mitchells Plain was gunned down while sitting in his car on the corner of Owen Road and Adriaanse Avenue in Elsies River. He was accompanied by two friends, who were also wounded, at the time of the incident.
According to reports, unknown men approached the men, firing more than 20 shots at the car without hijacking or robbing them (victims). Stevens was well known in his community and was a respectable young man who did not have any part in gangs and drugs, a friend told Deen Times.
The two passengers who were with Stevens are currently being treated in a hospital. No suspects have been arrested, as police continue to investigate the incident. Locals who have any information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects are urged to come forward.
Stevens murder follows that of 33-year-old Ray Ceeh killed in Lenteguer, Mitchells Plain last Wednesday and 19-year-old Chad Arendse who was brutally killed on Sunday while attending a friend’s 21st party in Rocklands, Mitchells Plain. (Deen Times)
