An official from the eThekwini Municipality has been arrested late last month for allegedly dealing with drugs.
Durban police’s drug task team arrested the suspect on Thursday 21 March. The Parks, Recreation and Culture (PRC) Unit employee was nabbed for allegedly dealing in heroin, but was later granted bail.
PRC Head Thembinkosi Ngcobo told North Glen News that Council staff are expected at all times to conduct themselves in an exemplary manner and in ways that do not cast aspersions on the good name of the City. “The allegation is in total contradiction to this expectation. This is viewed in a serious light and no stone will be left unturned in investigation and implementation of appropriate measures.”
