Lansdowne police are calling on the public to help them locate a suspect responsible for the injury of a 24-year-old man.
The suspect identified as Vernon Fester is wanted for attempted murder after he stabbed a young man 18 times with a glass bottle at a night club, where both of them were out clubbing.
Sergeant Nkululeko Mnyaka confirmed that the incident occurred on Sunday morning at 03:10.
“The victim explained that he was at Club Royal when he met Fester. After a while, the two decided to go to another club called Club Swingers.
“The suspect was driving and the victim was sitting in the passenger seat at the time.
“On their way, the two stopped under a bridge in Dolphin Way, Wetton, where the suspect got out of the car to urinate.
“When the suspect was finished, he went ahead and kicked a vagrant who was sleeping,” explains Mnyaka.
According to the police, the victim who gave in a statement got out of the car and told Fester to stop what he was doing.
After a while, they both got back into the car and drove off to Swingers. But upon arrival, Fester asked the victim to drive, and as he was about to start the car, he (Fester) hit the suspect with a glass bottle over his head.
“The victim’s eyes were covered in blood as the suspect continued stabbing him in the back of his neck.
“Eventually he (victim) got out of the car, and the suspect drove away. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. “
Mnyaka confirms no arrest has been made at yet and a case of attempted murder was opened for investigation.
