The search for a six-year-old girl from Herolds Bay, Gorge is still underway. The girl went missing with her mother and younger brother last week after going for a walk on the beach.
The body of a 35-year-old woman identified as the girl’s mother Heidi Scheepers was recovered from the ocean on Saturday afternoon, while her two-year-old son’s body and the car they were traveling in was recovered from the ocean on Friday.
According to reports, Scheepers husband Ettienne reported the family missing after they failed to come home after their walk on the beach on Tuesday 22 October. It is believed that the father had gone with them to the beach but left on foot to attend to some of their family businesses.
Police and sea rescue services continue to search for the body of the missing girl and are currently investigating the matter. The family owns the Herold’s Bay Cafe and run the Garden Route Property Management group, which manages several holiday homes in the area. Further information will be made public after an autopsy has been done on the family.
