New Zealand police have arrested four suspects in connection with this morning’s mosque attacks at Masjid Al Noor and Linwood Masjid in Christchurch, New Zealand.
About 49 people were killed and several others injured when gunmen opened fire on Muslim worshippers, at two different mosques during Jumuah prayers.
One of the suspects identified as Brenton Tarrant, live-streamed the mass killing on his Facebook account. The shared footage has since been deleted from various social media accounts. (Deen Channel managed to upload the footage on Utube – See link below to view video)
According to reports, one of the killers published a 94-page manifesto before his attack. New Zealand police have arrested three men and a woman – with one found wearing a suicide vest. Bombs were also planted on several cars close by, but the police were able to defuse it, they confirmed.
The dead and injured, include men, women, and children, while many others are still fighting for their lives in hospital. The area is currently on lockdown, and the names of the gunmen have not yet been confirmed by police.
